TMS Plants Trees and Offsets Carbon Footprint

December 2, 2008

Sandy Spring, MD – Transportation Management Services (TMS) initiated a “Go Green” project in 2008 to help offset a portion of the carbon footprint it leaves on the environment. Several initiatives have begun, including planting a tree for every 20 bus days that TMS operates. Over 300 trees have been planted through this program in 2008 so far. “We think this program has been wildly successful and we look forward to planting many more trees in 2009. It is a visual way for our employees and clients to see how committed we are to enriching our planet”, Kevin O’Connor, Chief Operating Officer, comments.

TMS Plants TreesTMS staff members were each given several trees to disperse and plant. Some even took trees to local elementary schools to teach the importance of being “green”. The TMS “Go Green” project not only encourages tree planting, but it also includes offsetting the TMS carbon footprint by supporting renewable energy, energy efficiency and reforestation projects around the world through its partnerships and it’s employees’ commitment to Go Green.
