1) Why do I need to contact TMS? a. Due to the extremely large number of charter buses arriving for the jamboree and the limited space at the Summit, troops must apply for a permit for a specific time window to access the grounds. Additionally, you can charter your bus directly through TMS from your departure city to the Summit. With the buses needed for on-site movements during the jamboree, TMS will be able to pass cost savings on to each troop by using your bus during the jamboree. 2) If I have questions, how do I contact TMS? a. You can visit TMS online at www.tms.com/2013jamboree to receive general information, register for permits, or receive a bus quote. For additional information, you can email jamboree@tms.com or call TMS at 800-437-7629. 3) Can I book a bus directly with TMS? a. Yes, TMS encourages you to do so. With all the buses needed at the Summit for jamboree on-site movements, TMS will be bringing in buses from across the U.S. to participate in jamboree transportation. Some buses may be leaving from your home cities, and with the added days of service for these buses, TMS will be able to pass some cost savings on to you. In addition, you will not need to worry about coordinating driver housing, driver scheduling, meals, etc. TMS will coordinate all logistics involved. 4) How do I receive a bus quote from TMS? a. Please visit www.tms.com/2013jamboree and click on the “Bus Quote” button, and it will guide you through the process. You will receive your quote via email within 48 hours if your request is received during normal business hours. 5) Am I required to charter a bus through TMS? a. No, but you must register for a permit regardless of who the bus is chartered through. TMS recommends that you provide all company info to TMS when registering for your permit. If you would like TMS to contact your bus company about using your vehicle during the jamboree, please email the information to jamboree@tms.com. 6) What if I charter my own bus? a. You are able to do so, but you must register for a permit online. If you would like TMS to contact your bus company about using your vehicle during the jamboree, please email the information to jamboree@tms.com. 7) Can TMS use my bus on-site for the jamboree? a. If you would like TMS to contact your bus company about using your vehicle during the jamboree, please email the information to jamboree@tms.com. Using the bus on-site will be based on scheduling and availability. 8) Why do I need to register for a permit? a. Due to the extremely large number of charter buses arriving for the jamboree and the limited space at the Summit, troops must apply for a permit for a specific time window to access the grounds. This will ensure buses are processed in a timely fashion and on-site space is available. 9) How do I get permits for multiple buses? a. After you have entered answers to the permitting questions and selected arrival and departure times for your first bus, you will be asked if you want to add another bus. If you have more than one bus to obtain a permit for, you should click on the "Add Another Bus" button at this point on the website. You will need to answer the questions again for that separate bus as well as pick arrival and departure times. All of the buses you have submitted information for will appear on the summary page. 10) What if I do not know what time I will be arriving? a. You will need to do your best in estimating your arrival time. These time windows will be first come, first served. You will be permitted access only during your registered time—no exceptions. 11) Where do I go to check in when I arrive? a. You will be assigned a check-in location at a later date. These locations are still being determined. Once the location is determined, you will be sent directions, instructions, and the permit. Once you arrive at the check-in location and go through the registration process, you will be assigned an Order of the Arrow Scout to guide you onto the Summit property. 12) What if I arrive at a time that differs from my permitted time? a. You will not be permitted to access the site or permitted to participate in the registration process until your permitted time. If you are late and miss your registration time, you will be placed in the next available time slot. 13) Do I need to register for a departure time? a. Yes. With the limited space on-site, bus access will be restricted on departure day. These departure windows will be on a first-come, first-served basis. If your bus is not booked through TMS, please coordinate with your bus company to arrange the time window that works best for your schedule. 14) Can I change my arrival/departure time? a. You will not be permitted to change either your arrival or departure time. If you arrive out of your scheduled time, you will be placed in the next available time slot. 15) Is there a deadline to contact TMS? a. Permits will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis, and bus charters will be subject to availability. Permit registration must be completed by June 1, 2013. Bus charters will be available up until June 30, 2013, but will be subject to availability. For best pricing, we recommend booking your bus as soon as possible. |
